Which Thermomix® model is compatible with the Thermomix® Cutter? The Thermomix® cutter has been designed for Thermomix® TM5 (manually) & Thermomix® TM6 (to be used with mode) and must not be used with the Thermomix® Friend, as the torque and the speed of TMF are not sufficient enough to produce satisfiable results.

The maximum speed is speed 4 while using the Thermomix® Cutter.
How to remove heavy staining or colouring of the disc?
Some ingredients which are rich in beta-carotene, such as carrots, can cause heavy staining both on steel and on plastic parts of the Cutter. To remove those stains efficiently without harming the disc, rub the stained parts with vegetable oil using a cotton ball or some kitchen paper, then wash normally with water and detergent. Please make sure you always handle the disc by the plastic hub when doing this. Do not use bleach to clean any Cutter part.
What is the material of the Thermomix® Cutter?
High-grade plastic, BPA free; stainless steel.
What kind of recipes can I make using the Thermomix® Cutter?
It can be used in ingredient preparation of all recipes that mention ingredients in slices in ingredient description. Salads, side dishes, and desserts are where the function will be most noticeable whether sliced or grated.
Tips: Slice or grate all the food you want to use in a recipe before starting the recipe with your Thermomix®.
Which functions are available for the Thermomix® Cutter?
- You can grate or slice (thin 1-2 mm and thick 4-5 mm) with the cutter. The slicing functions are on side 1 of the cutting disc (dark side), while the grating functions are on side 2 of the cutting disc (lightside).
- The thickness of slicing or grating is determined simply by the direction of rotation.
- Normal (clockwise) rotation will produce thick slices or strips, while counter-clockwise rotation results in thin slices or strips.
Attention: The right cut can only be done with the disc set on the correct side for the cut. There is a mode for grating and one for slicing. Modes will not change the type of cut that can be done. The direction of the knives determine thick or thin.
Tips: A gentle and steady push is all you need for optimal cutting results. Basically, you just need to guide down the pusher with your hand while ingredients are in the feeder tube of the cutter. Too much force can cause the drive shaft to break.
Is Thermomix® Cutter dishwasher-safe?
Yes. Place all components loosely and separately in the dishwasher to avoid deformation resulting from exposure to high temperatures or pressure from items above or nearby.Attention: Never soak your Cutting Disc in water to avoid the possibility of oxidation.
Tips: The cutting disc can be cleaned in the dishwasher. However, we would recommend cleaning the cutting disc under running water with a washing brush. This will help to keep the high-quality blades sharp for longer. Always hold the disc by the plastic hub when cleaning.
How to use the Thermomix® Cutter?
Only place the Thermomix® Cutter into an empty mixing bowl. Make sure that there is no food or liquid in the mixing bowl, especially on the mixing knife, before placing the drive shaft onto the mixing knife. It is not necessary to thoroughly clean the mixing bowl before using the Thermomix® Cutter. Please make sure that the mixing bowl is correctly positioned and fully inserted in the Thermomix® TM6 or TM5.
- Place the drive shaft (1) onto the mixing knife in the mixing bowl making sure it stands upright and stays in place.
- Place the cutter basket (2) onto the drive shaft.
- Hold the cutting disc (3) by the central plastic section (4) and place it onto the drive shaft with the side you want to use facing upwards.
- Put the cutter lid (5) on the cutter basket.
