What are the benefits of the black measuring cup?
- The new design help reduce noise while kneading, blending, and milling
- Stays in place when you remove the lid
- By securing the measuring cup to the lid, the innovative design reduces drips and is easier to handle.
What are the differences between the clear measuring cup and the black measuring cup?
The black measuring cup features an innovative new design that allows you to lock the measuring cup into the lid, limiting any rattling noise and reducing unwanted drips when the lid and measuring cup are removed. Both measuring cups are compatible with the Thermomix® TM5 and TM6™ models.
Why is the measuring cup black, not gray?
In order to provide our United States customers with all the benefits of the new design, our engineering team had to find a material that met the unique requirements of the food-grade certification in the USA, which are different from other countries. The material needed happens to be a shade darker than the measuring cup you will find in the rest of the world.
Is this less safe than other measuring cups?
All measuring cups produced by Thermomix® meet rigorous safety tests.
Why doesn’t the Measuring Cup (black) match the color of the Spatula, Varoma or Simmering Basket(grey)?
The color difference between TM6™ components, FDA-approved (e.g. spatula, Varoma, Simmering Basket) and black Measuring Cup, is due to the soft material which joins with the hard one, needed for the Measuring Cup. For other TM6™ components there was no such need because no soft and hard material joint need.
While in Europe grey Measuring Cup was approved with grey colored soft material, in USA it wasn’t. Black Measuring Cup is FDA-approved.
I do not like the color; can I get a clear measuring cup?
We’re sorry to hear that! Though we are confident you will find value in the enhancements we’ve made with the black measuring cup, you can purchase the clear measuring cup from our website here: https://shop.thermomix.com/product/measuring-cup-tm5/
Is there a chance there will be a new, grey, measuring cup?
To meet the unique food-grade certification requirements of the USA, the material for the measuring cup will remain as such, thus the color.
